WHJ Roundtable

In the American West, a handful of talented men are making major waves in the interior design industry, traditionally dominated by women. Western Home Journal spotlights five standout designers who are taking cues from their western roots and making an impact from coast to coast. Their award-winning firms have transformed spaces from Rocky Mountain ranches to New York City flats to executive California residences.

Hailing from eastern Montana horse country, Colton Martin grew up near the North Dakota border before heading west to study architecture at Montana State. After honing his skills at Whitefish design firms for over a decade, he founded Camp Martini in 2018 to share his own aesthetic vision. Based in Lakeside on the shores of Flathead Lake, his firm's portfolio stretches from the Flathead Valley to Big Sky and beyond to southern California. Well-traveled and culturally curious, Colton draws eclectic yet regionally appropriate inspiration for his designs, working closely with clients to bring their unique sensibilities to life.
